The works in Boxholm have a long history as they were founded as early as in the 1750s. The main activity at the works at that time was the manufacturing of nails.
In 1980, the operation was split up into several smaller companies. The production of hot rolled products was then merged with Smedjebackens Valsverk.
Ovako Bar AB in Boxholm consists of a medium rolling mill, a fine rolling mill and a section for after-treatment.
Our extensive product programme contains over 2,000 combinations of profiles in various dimensions and qualities, with the emphasis on special steel. Our products are mainly used within the automotive industry, shipbuilding, agriculture and tool industry. Northern Europe is our largest market.
