My work within research and development

Name:

Joseph Okeke

Born:

In Anambra State, Nigeria

Education:

Master of Science in Materials Technology (materials and process design), Kungliga tekniska högskolan 2010; MSc in Mechanical Engineering with special emphasis on structural mechanics, Blekinge tekniska högskola 2007; Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Nigeria.

My work:

I am working as Materials Engineer at Ovako Tube & Ring AB in Hofors. At the moment I am involved in five different projects, which for example aim to improve the properties of a product and minimize variations.

This is why I chose to work at Ovako:

My education relates to all the production activities here. Ovako takes excellent care of its staff. Another reason why I chose Ovako is the opportunity to contribute, present initiatives and innovative skills as well as available resources for implementation.

The best things about my work:

The environment is open to great opportunities, conceptual ideas and innovations, and you are rewarded accordingly. It is the kind of atmosphere I wanted for personal and company growth. It opens doors of opportunities to talented and creative minds to explore the potentials, break barriers, solve challenging problems and attain greater heights in the future.

I have also enjoyed seeing the practical aspects of processes and things that I have learnt about in theory throughout my engineering education.
