In many cases, they offer a better alternative than the usual peeled bars due to their higher quality, closer tolerances as well as better straightness and roundness – all properties highly valued by our customers.
The straightness of our bars makes them particularly suitable for machining in automatic turning centres, where the bar rotates at a high speed and a vibration-free feed movement is required. The exact roundness of our rough-ground bars is a highly valued property for demanding machine parts or bearing rolls, for instance.
Furthermore, rough-ground bars make an excellent raw material both for cold forming and warm forming of components.
