Safe and reliable energy production with a minimum impact on the environment is of major importance to society and industry. Ovako is a supplier of engineering steel to niches within energy production, especially where the demands on mechanical strength are particularly critical.
Many of our steel products are used for components in various auxiliary systems in energy production, but also more directly in critical operations, in particular in Oil & gas and in Wind power.
Reducing global CO2 emissions demands smarter product solutions and requires rethinking on many levels: more performance benefits per kilogram of product, less raw materials, and substituting fossil fuel energy sources with primarily fossil-free electricity. What a journey! It took years of hard work to make our steelmaking operations more sustainable. In 2022, we went carbon neutral in all operations. But we´re still not satisfied - our journey towards steel production without CO2 emissions continues.
