In the beautiful Mälaren Valley, between Västerås and Örebro, lies Ovako Hallstahammar, which is part of the Ovako Cromax business. The company manufactures and supplies low-carbon hard chrome plated bar and tube made from high-strength steel, and the operations in Hallstahammar consist mainly of hard chrome plating, peeling and grinding. 

Its customers are found mainly in the hydraulics industry and among original equipment manufacturers worldwide. Hydraulic cylinders include the bar as a component and are used for applications such as mining equipment, construction equipment and in the transport industries.
